Lost in the shuffle of a wild free agency period was the fact that Detroit Lions receiver TJ Jones had not signed his restricted free agent tender, reportedly worth $1.9 million. While there were no indications Jones was going to hold out, leaving him unsigned left open the possibility that another team would offer Jones a contract that the Lions would have to match or decline and receive draft compensation.
However, on the day the Lions opened offseason workouts, the Lions closed that possibility. According to the team, Jones has been officially signed to his restricted free agent contract, meaning he’ll be a part of the Lions for the 2018 season.
