Detroit Lions won't acknowledge change at RT, but say Michael Ola will get snaps vs. Oakland

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions have struggled to get consistency from the right tackle spot all season and tried a new option against the Green Bay Packers, subbing in Michael Ola early in the contest.

Claimed off waivers from San Diego last month, Ola went on to play 58 of the team's 65 offensive snaps in the 18-16 victory over the Packers.

The day after the game, coach Jim Caldwell characterized Ola's performance as "OK." Offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter offered more detailed praise.

"Michael Ola played pretty well, pretty well," Cooter said. "He wasn't expected to come in as early as he did.
