Detroit Lions will employ adviser with football expertise to help make GM decision

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions are planning to bring in another expert, one with extensive football knowledge, to assist in the team's search for its next general manager.

On Thursday, the Lions announced the formation of a search advisory board for the general manager search consisting of owner Martha Firestone Ford, her four children -- vice chairmen Martha Ford Morse, Sheila Ford Hamp, William Clay Ford, Jr. and Elizabeth Ford Kontulis -- and new team president Rod Wood.

Wood, who has already noted his lack of football experience, acknowledged the team would seek additional help making the decision.
