While Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford remains on the 53-man roster, it doesn’t look like the franchise quarterback will be returning to the playing field this week.
Stafford was, again, sidelined for Wednesday’s practice, the fourth straight week he has been out since his back injury against the Oakland Raiders. Earlier in the week, Patricia explained why Stafford remains on the 53-man roster, despite the fact that Detroit is out of the playoff race and Stafford hasn’t played in a month.
“We’re obviously going to keep that door open and see what happens here with all of the stuff that we’re doing with the doctors and everything from that standpoint,” Patricia said.
