TAMPA, Fla. — Heavy thunderstorms in the Tampa area delayed the start of the Detroit Lions' third exhibition game Friday night by about an hour.
The Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are scheduled to kickoff their game at 8:59 p.m.
Kickoff, originally scheduled for 8 p.m., was delayed after rain and lightning forced the teams to their locker rooms during pre-game warmups.
The Lions and Bucs are scheduled to return to the field for introductions at 8:30 p.m., followed by 20 minutes of warmups.
It's not yet clear what impact the weather will have on Lions coach Matt Patricia's decision to play his starters.
