Detroit Lions vs. Philadelphia Eagles: Game Preview

The Thanksgiving game might be traditional, but the Eagles are not. Head Coach Chip Kelly is trying to reinvent the NFL wheel with his horizontal-based running game, speed-based defense and reliance on relatively anonymous receiving options in the passing game.

When it works, Kelly’s Eagles are impressive. When it doesn’t, and that is quickly becoming the norm, it can be embarrassing for the Philadelphia fans never shy about expressing their displeasure.

Detroit fans know about embarrassing efforts too. In fact, the Turkey Day games have frequently been a source of national humble pie. The Lions have just three wins since 2001 in the one game the rest of the country watches annually.
