It’s time!
The Detroit Lions are back, and they’re kicking off their preseason schedule with a bout against the New York Giants. It’s a nice welcome back to football, even if it isn’t considered “real” football.
But just because the score and the outcome is meaningless doesn’t mean it’s not an important game. There are dozens of players on each team vying for a roster spot, and their performance on Thursday night could mean the difference between being a 53-man roster player and looking for a job come September. It’s a harsh reality, but something to always keep in perspective when poo-pooing the preseason.
