The Detroit Lions’ path to Super Bowl 59 begins on Sunday night.
Detroit enters 2024—their 91st franchise season—in a position they’ve rarely ever been: a popular Super Bowl pick. It’s warranted, though. Not only did the Lions come so close to the championship game last year, but they’ve invested in their biggest team weaknesses, training camp reports were positive, and they’re entering the year healthy enough to expect them to hit the ground running.
But it won’t be easy for them to get off to a hot start. The Los Angeles Rams are in town again, and it’s probably fair to say they’re still pretty upset with the way things ended last season.
