For the last 15 seasons, at least one undrafted rookie free agent (UDFA) has made the Detroit Lions' initial 53-man roster, which is quite an impressive streak. Even more remarkable is that the Lions' roster is considered deep enough to make a run at the Super Bowl, yet, there were still three UDFAs that made the team.
But don’t perceive the additions of Isaiah Williams, Loren Strickland, or Hogan Hatten to be a sign of weakness, as the Lions' front office has emphatically said that each of those players earned their jobs.
“All three of them earned their spot, it wasn’t given to them, they earned it, and they deserved it,” assistant general manager Ray Agnew said of Williams, Strickland, and Hatten.
