Coming off a stretch of only three wins in the previous 40 games, the Detroit Lions were finally showing signs of improvement leading into 2010. A strong draft class featured Ndamukong Suh and future Olympic sprinter Jahvid Best, the Lions did better than expected in free agency, and big things were expected from Matthew Stafford.
What followed was a Murphy’s Law type of season where just about everything possible going wrong for the first three months. For once, the Lions weren’t the ones shooting themselves in the foot, but they still ended the season with even their longtime kicker somehow lost to injury.
