The Detroit Lions' third and final exhibition of the 2024 preseason ended on a positive note, as they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 24-17. The Steelers opened with their starters, while the Lions trotted out their third team, which unsurprisingly resulted in a quick 14-0 lead for Pittsburgh. But once the Steelers started shuffling in their reserves, the Lions backup took advantage and went on a 24-3 run to win the game.
Coach Dan Campbell said all week that he planned on leaning on his reserves in this game, hoping some of the players would seize the opportunity.
