On Tuesday, the Detroit Lions released running back Jonathan Williams from their practice squad. That left two vacancies on the squad—the other one vacated when Detroit signed Kenny Wiggins up from the practice squad late last week.
On Wednesday morning, the Lions filled both those spots by signing quarterback/wide receiver Joe Webb and offensive lineman Marcus Martin to the practice squad.
Webb is the more notable addition, as the athletic quarterback-turned-wide-receiver-turned-quarterback is a fun weapon to watch. He last saw the field in 2018, as a wide receiver for the Texans, hauling in two catches for 13 yards in a game against the Colts.
