Detroit Lions sign QB Alek Torgersen to practice squad

The Detroit Lions signed quarterback Alek Torgersen to the practice squad Wednesday, getting a head start on their futures contracts for 2018.

Torgersen takes the place of Brad Kaaya, who's on-again, off-again status with the team is off again, this time maybe for good.

Kaaya, a sixth-round pick out of Miami, left the Lions' practice squad to sign with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday. The Lions tried to sign Kaaya to their 53-man roster, but the rookie decided to leave for his third team this season.
