Golden Tate's shoulder injury could open the door for Jace Billingsley to make his NFL debut.
The Detroit Lions signed Billingsley from their practice squad to their 53-man roster in one of a slew of transactions Wednesday.
The team also re-signed quarterback Brad Kaaya to the practice squad, and returned offensive tackle Corey Robinson to practice from injured reserve.
Billingsley led the Lions in receiving during the preseason each of the past two years, but was one of the team's final cuts.
