The Detroit Lions today signed free agent defensive end Quanterus Smith. Contract terms were not disclosed by the team.
Smith joins the Lions defense after spending the 2015 season on the New York Jets' and Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squads. He began his NFL career with the Denver Broncos in 2013-14, where he appeared in 15 games.
Drafted by the Broncos in the fifth round out of Western Kentucky in 2013, Smith has recorded 11 career tackles (seven solo), including two tackles for loss, and two pass defenses.
