The Detroit Lions announced on Wednesday that they’ve signed undrafted rookie defensive tackle Ray Smith to their practice squad, releasing defensive end Jonathan Wynn to make room.
This isn’t the first time Smith has found his way onto the Lions’ roster. After the 2019 NFL draft, Smith was signed by the Lions and remained with the team throughout all of training camp and the preseason. In two preseason appearances, Smith managed four total tackles.
Lions defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni is well familiar with Smith. Pasqualoni was the defensive line coach at Boston College for Smith’s sophomore and junior years as a BC Eagle.
