Detroit Lions sidestep James Ihedigbo contract demands on first day of conditioning

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions began their offseason program Monday, and seemed much more interested in who was there than who was not.

Ndamukong Suh, of course, and James Ihedigbo.

Suh bolted to Miami in one of the league's biggest offseason moves, while Ihedigbo sparked some controversy for threatening to stay home until he gets a raise. But coach Jim Caldwell addressed neither player during his first day of meetings with the team.

"All we can do is focus on the guys who are here," safety Don Carey said. "That's it."

Ihedigbo, 31, is coming off the best season of his career.
