Detroit Lions should have played Jake Rudock instead of Matthew Stafford

Free Press sports writer Carlos Monarrez answers three questions after the Detroit Lions' 27-9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings:

What did you think about Matthew Stafford's performance?

First of all, Stafford shouldn’t have played. After I wrote recently that he should sit for the final two meaningless games, I was flooded with emails and comments from fans who were right to say they wanted to see quarterback Jake Rudock elevated from the practice squad. Giving a young guy like Rudock playing time is invaluable and helps the Lions assess his value to the team going forward.
