The Detroit Lions have released veteran running back Zach Zenner, as reported by ESPN’s Field Yates on Tuesday afternoon, and later confirmed by the team.
The moves comes just before the teams preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night.
Zenner burst onto the scene in 2015, when he led the NFL preseason in rushing yards as an undrafted rookie out of South Dakota State. Last year he was released off of IR to start the season, but eventually returned to the roster a few months later.
