A couple weeks ago, Don Muhlbach was enjoying his second trip to the Pro Bowl in his long, 15-year career. If the 37-year-old had decided afterwards to hang ‘em up afterwards, no one would’ve blamed him.
However, the Detroit Lions long snapper isn’t going anywhere. On Wednesday afternoon the Lions announced that Muhlbach has re-signed with the team for the 2019 season.
Contract details were not announced, but there’s a pretty good chance Muhlbach has signed a one-year deal for the eighth consecutive year.
As pointed out by Lions director of football communications Eamonn Reynolds, if Muhlbach plays in just a single game in 2019, it will be his 16th season with the Lions—the second most of any Lions player in history.
