The Detroit Lions promoted two long-time scouts to new posts in their personnel department Saturday, naming Rob Lohman director of pro scouting and Dave Sears director of college scouting.
Lohman, in his 13th season with the Lions, replaces Brendan Prophett, who was released early from his expiring contract in April.
Sears, also in his 13th season with the Lions, was the team's assistant director of college scouting.
Both Lohman and Sears have worked their way up their Lions' scouting ranks since joining the team in 2007.
Lohman was an advance scout, a regional scout and the team's college scouting coordinator before joining the pro personnel department as assistant director of pro scouting in 2016.
