The Detroit Lions toned down practice a bit on Thursday after a padded session on Wednesday. The team took the field in shorts on a sunny afternoon, and were a little short on players than normal.
A’Shawn Robinson and Da’Shawn Hand sat out practice after participating on Wednesday. For Hand, Wednesday’s practice was his first full contact session since suffering his elbow injury in training camp. While it’s possible Hand aggravated something on Wednesday, the more likely explanation for his absence is simply managing his workload this week, as the Lions have an extra long set of days in preparation for “Monday Night Football” against the Green Bay Packers.
