Detroit Lions placing LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin on injured reserve

Another Detroit Lions player’s season is over a month before the regular season ends. Matt Patricia announced on Wednesday that second-year linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin is being placed on injured reserve because of a neck injury.

Reeves-Maybin has had a nagging neck injury since Week 9. He was able to play against the Panthers and last week against the Rams, but clearly the injury was too much for him to play through for the remaining four games.

It’s a disappointing end to an underwhelming second season for Reeves-Maybin.
