The Detroit Lions will be without one of their top draft picks indefinitely.
The Lions placed third-round pick Julian Okwara on injured reserve Tuesday, two days after he had to be helped off the field with a right leg injury.
Lions coach Matt Patricia declined to put a timetable on Okwara's return or say whether his injury could be season-ending.
"We’ll just kind of take it as it comes," Patricia said. "It’ll be a couple weeks here, but we’ll see what it looks like."
Okwara broke his left fibula last November and missed the end of his senior season at Notre Dame.
