Detroit Lions place Jamal Agnew (knee) on injured reserve

The Detroit Lions placed return man Jamal Agnew on injured reserve Monday, though head coach Matt Patricia stopped short of saying Agnew's season is over.

Agnew injured his left knee in the Lions' Week 5 win over the Green Bay Packers. Asked Monday if Agnew required season-ending surgery, Patricia said the Lions still are "going through the process right now to evaluate him."

"That’s the good thing about that kind of designation is we have options if we get to that point where we can expedite him and use him and try to do that," Patricia said.
