Two additional Detroit Lions players will be absent for the start of training camp on Wednesday. The team announced that linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, while offensive lineman Evan Brown will start camp on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list.
Reeves-Maybin figures to be a significant part of the Lions linebacker room given his special teams skills and his athleticism that should be a better fit in the new defensive scheme.
Reeves-Maybin is the second Lions player to be placed on COVID-19 reserve. On Wednesday morning, though, head coach Dan Campbell said over 80 percent of players had been vaccinated and that number is growing.
