Detroit Lions rookie cornerback Chase Lucas will miss the rest of December because of a hamstring injury.
The Lions placed Lucas, their seventh-round pick, on injured reserve Saturday to clear room on the 53-man roster for offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher.
Lucas suffered a hamstring injury in practice this week. He's played in six games this season, primarily on special teams, and missed time with an ankle injury earlier this year.
The Lions also elevated linebacker Jarrad Davis and defensive back Jarren Williams from the practice squad.
The Lions (5-7) are dealing with injuries at linebacker, cornerback and on the offensive line heading into Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings (10-2).
