Josh Wilson's season is over. One day after Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell announced the veteran cornerback had a "significant" injury, the team has decided to place Wilson on injured reserve.
Taking Wilson's place on the roster will reportedly be Bill Bentley, according to the Detroit Free Press.
A former third-round draft pick for the Lions, Bentley was released in June. He suffered an ACL tear in Week 1 of the 2014 offseason and had missed a total of 30 games due to injury in his three seasons with Detroit.
Signed this offseason to bolster Detroit's depth in the secondary, Wilson recorded 32 tackles in eight games.
