The Detroit Lions season will come to an official end this Sunday as they’ll welcome their divisional rivals, the Green Bay Packers, to Ford Field in Week 17. With the 12-3 Minnesota Vikings dominating the NFC North, both the 8-6 Lions and the 7-5 Packers are completely out of playoff contention.
For the Lions, pride is on the line as Detroit attempts to post their third winning season during the four-year tenure of head coach Jim Caldwell. And they’ll do so against a Packers team that have long dominated the division in the past. This contest will also allow some of the Lions to help pad their stats a bit, as players like wide receiver Golden Tate and defensive end Ziggy Ansah can reach some seasonal milestones in this game.
