The Detroit Lions officially announced on Monday morning that they have signed veteran running back Adrian Peterson. Although the team did not reveal contract terms, ESPN Adam Schefter is reporting it’s a one-year deal worth $1.05 million. The Detroit Free Press gives details, noting that the contract could be worth up to $2.3 million based on unspecified incentives.
To make room for Peterson on the roster, the Lions have placed undrafted running back Bo Scarbrough on injured reserve. Scarbrough had been battling a leg injury after one of the very first training camp practices, but it appeared he was nearing a return.
