SANTA CLARA, CALIF. — Some observations from the first half of Sunday's game between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers at Levi Stadium.
• The Lions made a defensive change at the start of Sunday's game, starting second-year cornerback Teez Tabor over Nevin Lawson. Early returns on the move were not good.
Tabor got dragged about 15 yards on the 49ers' first play from scrimmage, a run by Matt Breida. He also got beat badly for a 35-yard gain by Dante Pettis and had an illegal contact penalty, all on the first drive.

Tabor also appeared to misplay the 49ers' first touchdown, following a receiver inside when he should have been in zone coverage, though the Lions lost that play before the snap.
