INDIANAPOLIS - The Lions defense is in a bit of a no-win situation in this week's joint practices against the Indianapolis Colts.
With Andrew Luck on the physically unable to perform list and Scott Tolzien taking first-team reps at quarterback, the Colts offense is below average at best.
The Colts have some weapons to be sure, but Tolzien is a backup for a reason. If the Lions play well against Tolzien, well, it's Scott Tolzien. If they don't, sound the alarms.
In the first of two joint practices Thursday, I thought the Lions clearly got the better of Tolzien and the rest of the Colts offense.
