NAPA, Calif. — Matthew Stafford had no idea what to expect the first time he took part in joint practices two years ago against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Now, the Lions quarterback has come to enjoy them.
“I had just never done it before and it’s kind of interesting trying to adapt to different styles of practice,” Stafford said Wednesday after wrapping up two days of joint workouts with the Oakland Raiders. “Everybody kind of has their own pace, their own flow. Luckily, the three teams that we’ve gone against have been great in just helping us get good work.
