The Detroit Lions didn't have much of a pass rush to begin with. Now, they might really be up a creek without a paddle.
The Lions lost top defensive end Ziggy Ansah to a shoulder injury in the first half of Monday's season-opening 48-17 loss to the New York Jets.
Ansah had a drive-halting sack on the Jets' second offensive series, but left for the locker room after playing just three plays in the second quarter and never returned to the sideline.
Lions coach Matt Patricia offered no meaningful update on Ansah's health after the game.
