Detroit Lions lose 35-17 to Browns. Thankfully, the preseason is over

No one is happier that the preseason is over than the Detroit Lions.

Now, it’s onto the New York Jets — and hopefully better things.

The Lions closed exhibition play with another underwhelming performance Thursday, losing to Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns, 35-17, at Ford Field.

The Lions finished Matt Patricia’s first preseason as head coach 1-3, and more concerning than their record was how they performed.

While Matthew Stafford, Darius Slay and the rest of the Lions’ projected starters did not play Thursday, the Lions’ collective effort against the Browns was a microcosm of their preseason.
