GLENDALE, Ariz. — In the pantheon of unwatchable Lions football games, Sunday’s might go down as the worst.
The Lions beat the Arizona Cardinals, 17-3, in a meeting of two of the most offensively inept teams in the NFL.
Zach Zenner and Darius Slay accounted for the game’s only touchdowns, eight Lions couldn’t finish because of injury, and the win might have knocked the Lions out of contention for a top-five draft pick.
The Lions (5-8) won for just the second time in their past seven games and for the first time in the state of Arizona since 1993, and did so despite a continued inability to move the football downfield.
