It wasn’t the start any player on the Detroit Lions expected, but rookie running back Kerryon Johnson was encouraged by his NFL debut on Monday night.
“I thought I did OK,” he said Wednesday, “but didn’t win so just got to look at the next game and get ready for that one, you know? It’s a long season. We’ve got more games to play.”
As a team, the Lions’ run game started the 2018 season right where it left off in the 2017 season: dead last in rushing. Monday night, the Lions gained just 39 rushing yards.
