Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson made one of the game’s highlight plays when he caught a short screen pass from Matthew Stafford after he initially bobbled the ball, then regained control and ran untouched 36 yards into the end zone for the Lions’ first score in their 13-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
But he knew what it meant if he had dropped the ball: A shameful walk off the field.
“I better catch it,” Johnson thought, “because if you drop it and then you look up and see the whole open lane, you’re like, ‘That’s it for me.
