During his second season in the NFL, something seemed to click for Detroit Lions linebacker Jarrad Davis.
Davis is not afraid to speak his mind, and has developed as a leader, both vocally and by his actions, according to linebackers coach Al Golden.
"He's more reserved by nature, but I wouldn't say quiet," Golden said. "When he speaks, people listen. He doesn't waste words, if you will."
Golden views Davis as having the potential to play several positions on defense with his myriad skills. Davis has improved in the pass rush and man-to-man coverage skills.
"His challenges now are, he's trying to learn all the other positions," Golden said Wednesday.
