The Detroit Lions appear to be done with defensive end Ezekiel Ansah. Originally the fifth overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft by Detroit, Ansah’s recent time in the Motor City has been plagued by injuries and inconsistent play.
Last season, the Lions used the franchise tag to retain the 29-year old’s services, at a cost of $17.1 million. Ansah responded posting 11 total tackles and 4.0 sacks in seven games due to a shoulder injury. ESPN’s Michael Rothstein recently put the chances of Detroit re-signing their premier pass rusher at a lowly five percent.
