The Detroit Lions welcomed a few familiar faces back to practice on Monday as they prepare for their preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday. Backup quarterback Tom Savage, former second-round pick Teez Tabor and reserve offensive linemen Tyrell Crosby were among several Lions who returned to practice after missing significant time due to injuries.
For Savage, it’s a sign that he is close to clearing his way through concussion protocol. If his symptoms stay at bay, there’s a chance he could play in the preseason finale and make a solid case as the team’s primary backup when Detroit is forced to make a decision on cut day (Saturday).
