Prior to Monday’s joint practice with the New York Giants, Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell offered a couple of quick injury updates.
To start, Campbell noted that tight end Sam LaPorta was going to sit out practice with an undisclosed injury, and defensive back Brian Branch would be limited to individual drills and seven-on-seven work. However, Campbell made sure to point out that both players’ injuries are not considered serious.
“They’ll be fine long-term, don’t sweat,” Campbell noted.
Branch has been mostly limited this training camp as he continues to work his way back from an offseason clean-up surgery that had him in a boot and scooter in the spring.
