Free Press sports writer Carlos Monarrez answers three questions after the Lions' 34-22 loss to the Bears on Sunday in Chicago.
Is there any hope for the Lions this season?
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but no. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Sure, maybe the Lions will get healthier. Maybe they’ll keep it close against the Carolina Panthers and the Los Angeles Rams and even in the Thanksgiving Day rematch against the Bears. Maybe they’ll win two straight at Arizona and Buffalo. But this team is going nowhere. They lack the ability — through coaching, effort and talent — to play good football consistently, for a series or for an entire game.
