The Detroit Lions made the hiring of Dan Campbell official on Wednesday afternoon. Per reports, Campbell agreed to a six-year deal to become the Lions next head coach, which is notably a year longer than the deal the Lions new general manager Brad Holmes, who was officially hired last week.
As part of the team’s announcement of the hiring, the Detroit Lions offered official statements from their front office.
First up is team owner Sheila Ford Hamp:
“This is an exciting day for our organization as we introduce Dan Campbell as the new head coach of the Detroit Lions.
