Free Press sports writer Carlos Monarrez grades the Detroit Lions on each selection during the 2019 NFL draft:
Grade: B
The Lions traded up seven spots with Minnesota to pick this big-hitter and possible linebacker in sub packages in the third round. He’s a three-year starter and has the size at 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds to cover big receivers and tight ends. Tracy Walker is not a sure thing as a starter, so Harris fills a need, provides versatility and he’s likely a safe because defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni was a BC assistant in 2016-17.
