Free Press sports writer Carlos Monarrez grades the Detroit Lions after selecting Notre Dame outside linebacker Julian Okwara with the No. 67 overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft:
Grade: A.
The reason: The edge rusher provides the Lions much-needed help and addresses a major area of need and production. He had 15.5 sacks in four years at Notre Dame, where he was a team captain, but he also plays the run well. He shouldn’t have any trouble fitting in with the Lions because he’s the younger brother of Lions defensive end Romeo Okwara.
