Free Press sports writer Carlos Monarrez grades the Detroit Lions after selecting Georgia running back D’Andre Swift with the No. 35 overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft:
Pick: D’Andre Swift, Georgia running back
Grade: A.
The reason: As the Lions found out last year as they shuffled through countless running backs and saw Kerryon Johnson miss his 14th game in two seasons, they can’t have enough quality rushers. Swift was considered by some as the draft’s most complete back with at least 1,000 rushing yards the past two years, good hands and a good pass protector.
