ALLEN PARK -- There was a lot of debate about whether the Lions would keep a fifth receiver or a fourth tight end. Turns out, they kept both.
Plus a sixth receiver.
Bubble players like Brandon Powell and Bradley Marquez both made the Detroit Lions' initial 53-man roster at receiver, while Michael Roberts and Hakeem Valles both made it at tight end.
Powell was Detroit's brightest star in the preseason. He caught a league-high 16 passes for 103 yards in the four exhibitions, plus averaged a league-high 15.7 yards per punt return and housed one from 80 yards out, the longest return by anybody in the league.
