The Detroit Lions added to a crowded running back room Saturday with the selection of former Washington RB Dwayne Washington with their final pick of the draft.
Washington played in nine games this past season, rushing for 282 yards on 47 carries and catching 25 passes for another 315 yards and three touchdowns. He missed the final four games of the season, including the team’s bowl game, due to a knee injury.
He rushed for 697 yards and scored nine touchdowns in 13 games as a sophomore.
The 6-foot, 223-pound running back ran a sub-4.5 seconds on his pro day, which makes him an interesting prospect that possesses good size and speed.
