Detroit Lions draft 'heart and soul' of Oklahoma State's defense in Malcolm Rodríguez

The Detroit Lions went back to the defensive well with their early sixth round pick, taking their fourth player on that side of the ball in their first six selections.

The Lions picked up Oklahoma State linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez at No. 188 overall, their third defensive selection out of their first four picks on days two and three.

Detroit was originally drafting at No. 181, but traded that selection to Philadelphia for picks No. 188 and 237.
